Cranes for Sadako
A very special invitation
Hello everyone,
Before we share this more widely, I wanted to begin here.
Cranes for Sadako, a global initiative to honor and remember Sadako Sasaki, is now available on our website. Please join us for this special project. We are providing a space for you and your students, colleagues, family, and friends to share your cranes, your thoughts, dreams, thanks, prayers, and wishes to Sadako, the girl who folded hope into paper, turning a child’s quiet dream into a symbol the world could hold and share.
As you will see on the page, a few very special humans have already participated and are looking forward to seeing your cranes besides theirs in honor of Sadako.
Sadako’s story has traveled across generations not because it is loud, but because it is human. A child. A wish. A thousand cranes. A quiet act of hope in the face of uncertainty. We want this wall of cranes in her honor to reflect that spirit and stand as a quiet and united tsunami of hopes, dreams, and well-wishes from every corner of the planet. I truly hope you join us in this campaign.
Cranes for Sadako provides a space where remembrance can take a tangible and lasting form. A folded crane. A short message. A growing digital gallery of voices from classrooms, families, and individuals like you who choose to participate.
There are no complicated requirements. No competition. No pressure to say the “right” thing. Only the invitation to fold and to reflect.
You may share words of peace.
You may write directly to Sadako.
You may simply add your cranes and let them stand on their own.
Because you are part of this community, you’re seeing this first. We will open the broader invitation in the coming months. For now, this is an early doorway to feature your cranes first.
You can learn more and add your crane HERE.
Wondering what else you can do? Please help the project grow by sharing our website with teachers, group leaders, home-school communities, senior residences, and friends.
The more we exchange, the more we communicate directly, person-to-person, without the interference of algorithms or outside noise, the brighter our shared future becomes.
Thank you for being part of the flock.
Sue
